McKeil Marine was contracted to work with Mammoet Eastern Canada Ltd. for the movement of two project cargo pieces, including a 1200 mt stacker used for ship loading. McKeil’s 400′ x 100′ Nunavut Spirit is the only available barge in eastern Canada capable of carrying the cargo. Working with port officials, and the cargo owner ArcelorMittal and Mammoet, McKeil was able to deliver the cargo safely and on time. Pieces were transported from Belledune, NS to Port Cartier, QC. In addition, McKeil supplied a 160’ x 70’ deck barge utilized as a temporary dock to help facilitate the loading.
