Guiding the strategic day to day management, Steve leads the executive team implementing continual business improvement, advancing projects and ensuring proactive leadership at all levels of the organization. His broad business education; a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in marketing and an MBA specializing in finance, provides a solid foundation for all aspects of the business. Since joining McKeil in 1999, he has been instrumental in key acquisitions, divestitures, new business development and strategic direction for the company.
For most of his life, Blair has been on the water and involved in marine transportation. By the age of twenty-six, he was deeply involved in the business started by his father in 1956. Seven years later, he assumed full leadership of the company and began to steer it through the challenges of the modern economy. His charismatic personality and relentless drive has been instrumental in developing new enterprises and opportunities.
Leading the project and engineering development portfolios, Olous brings more than 27 years of Marine experience, joining McKeil Marine in 2010. Olous began his career sailing as chief engineer on tugs and offshore vessels, moving into shore-based management positions including Superintendent, and Director of Fleet Engineering Operations. His experience in towing, harbour tugs and offshore vessels helps support project deployment and management in coastal and Arctic regions.
Leading the financial and risk management areas of the company, Jim brings 30 years of experience including more than ten years at a freight and logistics company. Jim is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Throughout his career he has held positions including CFO and VP Operations, and since 2011 continually raised the bar in financial management at McKeil Marine.
Patrick leads our Commercial team including Business Development, Customer Service, Vessel Scheduling, Marketing & Communications, and Financial Analysis & Planning related to our Commercial activities. He recently joined McKeil following success as a senior member of the Deloitte Corporate Finance team, providing expert assistance in our new equity investment with TorQuest. Patrick holds a degree in Honours Business Administration and designations as a Chartered Accountant and CPA.
Shari leads our Human Resources function where she focusses her efforts on our company’s most important assets – our Crew. With close to 20 years’ experience as an HR Professional, Shari joins McKeil after successfully leading the employee engagement efforts at her past employer. These efforts led to the organization being a recognized top employer in Canada multiple years in a row. Shari holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Sociology and a post-graduate Certificate in Human Resources.
Marc heads up our Finance and IT departments at McKeil. He began his career in financial services at a boutique investment bank. Since then, he has held various financial leadership roles in manufacturing and airline services sectors, gaining valuable experience in low margin, high volume businesses. Prior to joining our crew, Marc was the CFO of the Latin America Division of Gate Gourmet & VP / Chief of Staff for Gate Gourmet in Canada. Marc holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance from the University of Ottawa, an MBA from IESE Business School in Spain, and the CMA designation.
